10 Days – Magnificent Japan Tour

This 10-day itinerary follows the path of Japan’s ancient Tokaido Highway (the Golden Route) from the skyscrapers of ultra-modern Tokyo to the cultural heart of Kyoto. In between the two cities, you’ll stop in the beautiful town of Hakone to soak up Mount Fuji views, hot springs, and excellent museums. This is the so-called “Golden Route” which is a tour-packed major sightseeing spot in Japan.

【Day 1】Arrival in Narita

Arrive at Narita airport.
Met by our driver at the exit of Narita Airport and transferred to your hotel. (The driver speaks Japanese only)

【Day 2】Full-day Tokyo sightseeing
Explore Tokyo’s historical sites, romantic places, and some of the other unique places that make this city so special. Check out our recommendations for famous places and must-visit locations. From historical sites to modern Tokyo, there are lots of things to see and do.

*Imperial Palace 
The imperial palace was the Edo Castle in the Edo era. It is used not only for important national events but also as the Emperor’s residence.

*Asakusa
Sensoji temple with Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) – I’m sure you have seen this gate once!
Nakamise shopping street is a mixture of contemporary and traditional atmospheres.
You can rent a Kimono here, Strolling in Kimono in Asakusa town makes your trip unforgettable!

*Meiji Shrine
Meiji Shrine, is a Shinto shrine in Shibuya, that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. The shrine does not contain the emperor’s grave, which is located at Fushimi-momoyama, south of Kyoto

*Harajuku
Buzzing Harajuku is renowned for colorful street art and youth fashion, with quirky vintage clothing stores and cosplay shops along Takeshita Street, and traditional, upmarket boutiques on leafy Omotesando Avenue.
Ura Harajuku is also know as colorful and funky shopping district.

【Day 5】Mt. Fuji & Hakone
Visit one of the most beautiful symbols of Japan, Mt. Fuji!
It takes 2 hours from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji by bus. Hakone is a sightseeing area where you can enjoy abundant nature and hot springs. Must-Visit places here are Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Taking an exciting Hakone Pirates boat on Lake Ashi, riding on a ropeway to Owakudani. You may be able to see the glorious view of Mt. Fuji.
Enjoy your dinner at your staying hotel.

**Please send your luggage to your hotel in Kyoto. We’ll arrange the delivery service, but please settle the bill directly to the hotel

*Mt. Fuji 
Mt, Fuji (Japanese people call it “Fujisan”) is with 3,776 meters Japan’s highest mountain.
Climbing up to the summit is permitted from the beginning of July until 10 September only.

*Lake Ashi Cruise
You can enjoy the beautiful Hakone view from the cruise in 20-30 min.

*Hakone Ropeway
 It connects Sounzan Station (at the terminus of the Hakone Tozan Cablecar) with Togendai Station (at the shore of Lake Ashinoko). We’ll stop at Owakudani station for sightseeing.

*Owakudani
It has “Kurotamago – black egg”. When you have one Kurotamago, your life span would extend 7 years. If you
have ten Kurotamago, you can live 70 years longer than your original life expectancy!

【Day 6】Hakone to Hiroshima
Transferred to Odawara station from your hotel by a private vehicle.
You will take the Bullet train to Hiroshima (About 3.5 hours)
After you reach Hiroshima, then visit Peace Memorial Park.

Peace Memorial Park
Before the bomb, this area was the heart of the political and commercial of the city. This is why this place was
chosen as the pilot’s target.

【Day 7】Hiroshima – Kyoto

AM begins the most famous shrine in Japan – Itsukushima Shrine
Traveling to Kyoto.
Check-in the hotel in Kyoto. 

*Itsukushima Shrine 
Formally named Itsukushima, the island is more popularly known as “Miyajima”, literally “shrine island” in Japanese, thanks to its star attraction. The shrine is known worldwide for its iconic “floating” torii gate.

*Transferred from Hiroshima to Kyoto by Bullet train
Bullet train ticket fee is included. Our tour guide takes you to Hiroshima station after the tour. Please go to Kyoto and check in your hotel by yourselves.

Itsukushima Shrine

【Day 8】Full-day Kyoto Sightseeing
Kyoto served as Japan’s capital and the emperor’s residence from 794 until 1868. It is one of the country’s ten largest cities with a population of 1.5 million people and a modern face.
This half-day excursion takes you to the must-see spots around Kyoto station.

*Fushimi Inari Shrine
It is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates which straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. The trails lead into the wooded forest of the sacred Mount Inari, which stands at 233 meters and belongs to the shrine grounds.

*Kiyomizu Temple
Kiyomizu Temple is best known for its wooden stage that juts out from its main hall, 13 meters above the hillside.
”Jump off the stage on Kiyomizu” is a very famous expression for Japanese people which means “We muter up courageously to do something”.Early people believe if you could survive after having jumped off Kiyomizu, your dreams come true”.  

*Yasaka Shrine
Worshippers play expel epidemics and being sound health here.

*Gion district / Ponto-cho area
Gion is Kyoto’s geisha district, with hostesses in colorful kimonos often sighted on the wooden Tatsumi Bridge, or amid upscale Japanese restaurants and boutiques on Hanamikoji Street.
Ponto-cho is a narrow alley running from Shijo-dori to Sanjo-dori, one block west of Kamogawa River. The alley is packed with restaurants on both sides offering a wide range of dining options from inexpensive BBQ to traditional and modern Kyoto Cuisine.

【Day 9】Full-day Kyoto Sightseeing

You will visit the Arashiyama area in Kyoto which has Cherry blossoms in Spring, Fresh greenery in Summer, Red leaves in Autumn, and Snow in Winter.
So that Arashiyama never lets tourists get bored visiting. 

*Kinkakuji Temple
Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) is a Zen temple completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and according to his will, it became a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in 1408. Kinkakuji was the inspiration for the similarly named Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion), built by Yoshimitsu’s grandson, Ashikaga Yoshimasa, on the other side of the city a few decades later.

*Ryoanji Temple
The most famous thing about Ryoanji Temple is its Rock Garden.
Although a total of 15 stones is arranged, it is a strange structure in that only 14 stones can be seen from any angle.
By subtracting one from the number 15, which represents perfection in the Eastern world, it seems to represent an imperfect garden.

*Arashiyama – Bamboo Grove
The sunlight filtering through the gaps in the bamboo grove that stretches high into the sky is very fantastic and photogenic.
It’s one of the best instagrammable spots. 

*Arashiyama – Togetsu Bridge 
It is the 155m length of a bridge spanning across the river between Sagano and Arashiyama.
The incredible scenery of Sakura & Red leaves especially wowed the tourists!

【Day 10】Back to your country

The last day of your trip coming. Our tour guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel at the designated time. You will be transferred to Kansai Airport (KIX) in time for your departure flight.
